Finally some news!

The PowerPac was still in Kampala this morning and Godfrey (from RG) had one last "Office" to visit and finalize the tax before it could be released.  Efforts to contact the 1st Lady of Uganda and also the photos and texts that passed between us and Godfrey seemed to be what were needed.  However we did not receive confirmation that the container was on its way from Kampala to Karuma until later this evening.  The plan is to drive it all the way to Restoration Gateway.  We are expecting to learn that it has arrived around 5AM and we hope to go to see it at that time.  Praise the Lord for His timing.  Today was a dry and breezy day, which will help tremendously for navigation from Karuma to RG, a distance of about 6 miles of dirt (mud & ruts) road.  If the truck gets to RG through the night as planned there will be a crane brought in from Karuma around 9AM in the morning to set the PowerPac onto the foundation awaiting it.

We spent some time clearing a pathway down to the river today, and also two areas that will likely become favorite overlooks on the river for solitude or contemplation and meditation and prayer.  We saw some interesting birds and watched as men from the village were fishing on the river.
Kind of wish we had a canoe or kayak here to use...

We made sure that the ditch diggers were given good instructions as to what we want.
And the trusses being built for the roof of the container were also inspected.
Linda has been taking really good care of us and none of us has starved to date... (food has been really good).
Thank you all for your prayers and notes of encouragement.  Things are happening in God's time.
As mentioned before, the director of RG and his wife went to Kampala today for some tests related to her heart issues.  We have not heard back from them as to the results, but are hopeful that everything went well for them.  Also, we have not heard more on the little 11-year-old who we have prayed for to be released from the bondage of demon control over her entire being.  The opposition to this project seems to signify how important it is to providing the Light of the Gospel to this part of Uganda, and for providing this 180-bed hospital the power it needs to meet the needs for the community.  God is Good, All the Time!  May He be praised!  As I write this we are hearing a praise service going on somewhere close by, The sky seems to be cloudy, but we don't see the lightning we have been seeing each night so far, and perhaps the Lord will spare this area of  the mud that would come from another night of hard rain.

  1. Still praying for that little girl. Like all the pictures helps us to see a little of what you are doing and seeing there. Looks like you have a good cook.
