Wednesday evening PowerPac update

We have been in contact with the Restoration Gateway shipping representative today as the PowerPac is still in limbo in Kampala.  Tax was paid this morning and the next step was inspection of the container contents.  This ended up not going well as the inspector and the shipping agent both seemed to be unable to reconcile what they encountered inside the container with the printed manifest.  We had several calls and sent some photos via WhatsApp, along with some details about the contents.  We got response back from the shipping representative that he felt this would be very helpful, but we have not heard back from him if the inspection was successful.  We indicated to them that the components inside the container were all essential to the installation here at RG.  We hope this was sufficient, but it is now evening and we are still waiting to hear something.  Several factors have contributed to the problems with release of the container and we are optimistic that we can still proceed with the travels of the rest of the team to Uganda on Saturday, but we will be hoping to hear better news tomorrow.  We are helpless to do any more than pray here.  Would you kindly pray to this end?  A call was made to the country’s First Lady who has been here to RG in the past and we are hoping she may be able to pull some strings, but our God is greater than that.  Anyway we are stressed here.

Another request we had from the mission here was in regard to a young girl who is demon possessed and the leadership have had to remove her from contact with other girls who she has been hurting and a pastor from Gulu, about an hour away, has come to work with her as he has had some experience with these types of situations.  The girl comes from a tribe that has practiced cannibalism and she was forcibly exposed to this practice as a very young child.  She is now 11 years old.  We have been asked to pray for this girl as she wants to be delivered from this captivity and has expressed that to the staff here.  Would you also pray for her as well?

We did some more layout work today and opened up the new generator to figure out how we will connect to it once we have the container on site.  It did rain hard during last night and ground is soft, so this is another concern.

A gentleman from Texas has been here for 5 or 6 days doing landscaping projects and he mowed the tall grass down between our guesthouse porch and the 80’ drop-off to the Nile River.  We can see this massive body of water raging and carrying large sections of vegetation to who knows where.  We have seen numerous “islands” of grass as long as 20’ in length going down the river looking like you could actually walk on them as the grass is fully upright.  Seems like there should be some hippos out there, but we haven’t spotted any yet.  We have seen a variety of birds here as well as 4 or 5 monkeys.  So far no scorpions, Black Mambas, or Pythons, but we do walk through the tall grass with care.

We are struggling with Internet service here, so there may be days like today when no photos are posted.  If you took the time to read all of this we think you will pray for us as you mull it all over in your minds.

  1. Praying for that poor girl that she would have deliverance from the demons and that God could use her live to bring hounor and glory to him. Also that the container will get there quickly and with out to much trouble.
